Frequently Asked Questions
These are the questions Richardson homeowners ask us most, answered plainly. If yours isn’t listed, call (469) 896-3023 — a short conversation usually covers it.
What goes into the price of a drywall repair?
Three things: how big the damaged area is, what the wall behind it needs, and how much finish work the surface requires. A nail-hole fill is pocket change; a rebuilt, textured wall section costs more. We measure, quote in writing, and that number stands — estimates are always free.
Why does the crack over my doorway return every year?
Richardson’s clay soil swells with rain and shrinks in the heat, and your home flexes with every swing. A crack filled with rigid filler just splits again the next season. We rebuild those cracks with flexible tape and layered compounds that move with the house — and if the pattern hints at a foundation problem, we’ll point it out before doing cosmetic work.
Can you blend a repair into a knockdown wall?
Yes — that’s our most requested skill. Richardson has thousands of knockdown and orange peel walls from decades of building booms, and a flat patch looks wrong on every one of them. We practice the texture on a sample board until it matches your wall, then feather it in so the boundary disappears.
My ceiling stain came back after painting. What now?
The stain returned because painting seals nothing — water stains bleed through fresh paint, and the source may still be active. We help confirm the leak is fixed, cut out the stained board, seal the new surface with stain-blocking primer, and refinish it to match. Done in that order, it stays gone.
Is popcorn ceiling removal messy?
It’s dusty work, but the dust is ours to manage, not yours. We seal off the room, cover floors and fixtures, and bag every scrap of debris. For homes built before the mid-1980s we test the texture for asbestos first — common in Richardson’s older housing — and follow safe procedures if it’s present.
Do you work in 75080, 75081, and 75082?
All of them, on both the Dallas and Collin county sides of the city. We’re also out weekly in Plano, Garland, Dallas, Allen, Addison, Murphy, and Sachse. If you’re near Richardson and not sure you’re covered, call with your address and we’ll confirm in seconds.
Do I need to clear the room before you arrive?
Just move what you can away from the work area. We lay floor protection and cover anything that stays. When the job is done we sweep, vacuum, and carry out all the debris.
Should I call right away if water is coming through?
Please do. Active leaks get priority scheduling, sometimes same-day. Every day a wall stays wet, the repair grows — fast action today is the difference between a patch and a rebuild.
Are you insured for work in my home?
Yes. Our crews hold the licensing required for this trade in Texas and carry full liability insurance, so your home and our team are covered from start to finish.
What if the repair doesn’t hold up?
Tell us and we’ll return to make it right. Our name in this city depends on repairs that stay fixed, and we stand behind every surface we finish.
